Health & Physical Education

What is AIA Health & Physical Education?

AIA Health & Physical Education courses are U.S. high school-aligned programs designed for Grades 9–12 students to build physical fitness, wellness, and lifelong healthy habits. These courses meet U.S. high school PE/health graduation requirements, count toward cumulative GPA, and are flexible for online learning.

Students typically begin in Grade 6 with foundational PE and health courses, progressing to specialized electives like Nutrition and Wellness, Exploring Health Sciences, and Physical Education. Courses are structured to promote physical and mental well-being, adapted for AIA’s global student community with flexible, asynchronous learning options.

PROGRESSION

Health & PE courses progress to undergraduate kinesiology, nutrition, public health, and pre-health programs. Course credits count toward U.S. high school graduation requirements, and strengthen college applications by demonstrating well-rounded student development.

ENROLLMENT OPTIONS

Courses are available as full-time or part-time options, with flexible pacing for AIA students. Students may take PE/health courses alongside core academic subjects, and combine multiple electives to meet high school graduation requirements without disrupting AP/IGCSE exam preparation.

EXAM

Most Health & PE courses are internally assessed through project-based work, fitness logs, and written assignments, with no external standardized exam. Assessment is aligned with U.S. high school standards, with grades counting toward cumulative GPA.
